2022 – 15 year old State Tournament starting July 9th.

It would be appreciated if each team could e-mail
a copy of their roster along with the phonetic pronunciations for each player
to help the PA announcer to Bob Wheway.

The bracket, warm up schedule, box score and
pitching record, can be found on our JML Website. Game results can also be found on the State Tourney Machine Website.
Location and Fields
We will be using two fields for the Tournament
with the majority of games being played at Jonathan Law High School. The other
field is Wasson Field,
Metal
cleats will be strictly prohibited at Jonathan Law. Please advise your players
to bring turf shoes with plastic cleats. Metal cleat are allowed on Wasson field.

Jimmy Fund
We will be collecting money for the Jimmy Fund
throughout the tournament. Donation cans can be found at the scorer’s table and
will also be passed through the crowd during games. If your League would like
to make a group donation to the Jimmy Fund, you can bring a check and we will
make sure it gets to the right place.

Tournament Fees
The fee for the tournament will be $350 per
team. A check made payable to State of Connecticut Babe Ruth shall be submitted
with your tournament book. Your tournament book must be submitted prior to your
first game to the Tournament Director.
Each team will also be responsible for covering
the cost ($80 cash) of one umpire per game.

* If the field is not
available 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time the Teams will split
the remaining time less 10 minutes for "In Field practice". It is
possible there won't be enough time available due to the completion time of
the previous game and field grooming etc. Regardless, the teams must be in
their dugouts and ready to play 10 minutes prior to game time. |
Protest Committee
·
Each team must have one representative for the protest committee
for each of their games. This person cannot be a member of the team coaching
staff. Please present this person’s name to the official scorer 30 minutes
prior to the start of the game with your official lineup.
Lineup Cards / Official Score Keeper
·
Please provide your lineup card to the Official Score Keeper and
opposing team at least 30 minutes before game time and earlier if possible.
Please list player first and last name, uniform number, position, and phonetic
pronunciation of last name. All substitutions and pitching changes must
also be reported to the Official Score Keeper. All games will have a PA
announcer.

Players will be called out on the field to line up on their
respective foul line for the National Anthem 10 minutes prior to game time.
·
The home and visiting teams are responsible verifying the pitch
counts with the official pitch count statistician at the end of each half
inning.
Home team / Dugouts
·
The team whose town is closest to the site of the Tournament will
occupy the 1st base dugout. Home team will be determined by coin
toss 10 minutes prior to start of game.
Baseballs
·
Baseballs will be provided by the State.
Coaches
·
Coaches are required to
be in full uniform.
Rules
·
Tournament Rules will be per the State of Connecticut Babe Ruth
website and can be found HERE in addition to the Babe Ruth Rule Book
(tournament rules). Please make sure that you download and review them.
·
Any player, coach or fan who displays poor
sportsmanship and behavior will be subject to removal from the complex. Refusal
to leave the complex could result in arrest.
